Okay....so this is a bit late...sorry... but we rec'd a package from the amazing Heidi Kenney and I just about fell over backwards when I opened it up. It was full of AMAZING treasures and there was something for everyone. She sent me fabric, an amazing Tree lady print, a cool apple cutting board, some of her fabric, a goodie bag for Memphis with a cool bird hanging curtain and crafty stuff, a super cute book, a cool vintage Gingerbread Napkin with the story inside a toy for Soren...that is vintage and so great, a super cute card and the pin and Gnome puppets I ordered. Plus she wrapped it all in my favorite wrapping paper that I didn't buy and wish I would have....the next time you are in Seattle Heidi...we HAVE to go out. I seriously can't believe that package. How amazingly thoughtful all the while she continues to build her Plush Empire. Seriously...she gets so much done I am jealous all the time. Thanks sosososososo much Heidi!!!!

So much going on I can barely keep up.....

They have to count and classify things for math...so she took out all her crayons and lined them up and counted them. There were 3oo and something when she was all done.

New vans...$13.00 and coloring in by Memphis

Why Hello

Last Sunday we had to paint the bottom of the small closet with Kilz. There is a small leak and eventually the valves have to be replaced but that involves jack hammering and a big mess. So for now containment is the answer.

Went to Plush You October 10th. Took a lot of photos but did not recharge my battery before hand. So camera died and missed out on photographing a lot of folks. So...I am sorry. I still plan on popping by but who knows. The show was amazing. I got to meet a bunch of folks and I helped to hang the show again which is always fun. Thanks again Kristen for all you do and for just being you. I seriously heart you. Oh and she is putting up the pieces still available on her Schmancy site so check it out. She will do it a little at a time.

Ran many, many errands this week.
Went on many dog walks.
Sewed some on Supermaggie order....I know but life is so hectic with Soren and what can I say?
Got some SERIOUSLY amazing mail love which I plan on finally sharing this week.
Went to a ladies movie night at a friends, one that is in my bookclub but I have know her since school. It was so nice to hang with the ladies and watch 'Sex In the City' again. I love it. Unfortunately I was chatting it up after the movie and they asked me how socializing at Memphis' school was going and I am afraid I had a slip. I let it be known that sometimes the vast financial differences bummed me out. Se La Vi...I am me and that's all I am. Sometimes I slip. I really hate it though. I would rather bottle it up and not expose so much...but that's just not me.
My friend Anna was so nice about it though and she did make me feel better. It's just living in a small space that I do not own is not easy to do all the time. I am very proud of my family and myself but apparently some therapy would really help with a few things. Oh well, we all have our baggage right? That is what makes us real.
Anywho during the movie every time they showed Brady, Amanda's son, I got all choked up....because I have a son now. A beautiful little boy that will soon grow up to be a bigger boy and he is going to be so damn cute...well he already is...but I mean like a boy person. Right now he is still my little baby... but not long from now he will be walking and running about telling me things and I seriously couldn't be more filled with joy about it all. Not only do we have the world's most amazing daughter but we have a son now. We are in fact a proper family and sometimes while I am getting caught up in the dishes, vacuuming, laundry, errands, driving, diapering, feedings, meals I forget just how amazing that is. Jason and I have a proper family and we are the heads of the household. When did I become a grown up? How did it happen so fast? So...I have decided that slowing down would be good. Taking more time to breathe, relax and enjoy. Money is a form of success but if you are not careful while you are working away for the all mighty dollar your life just might speed right past you. So what if we live in a teeny tiny space and are tightly knit. So what if we don't have the latest greatest. Who cares if our auto is not tip top or we can't fly off to here or there on a whim. We have each other and that is a lot.
Happy Weekending.
It's the pumpkin patch for us next.
What was that about slowing down????

First a BIG shout out to Betsy Thompson....a flickr friend of mine. She sent us some serious Mail love. An amazing book for Soren that I am having a hard time letting go of called...'The Little Flower King' by Kveta Pacovska. It is AMAZING. I love all the art work the colors the scale...man it's fantastic!! Then there was the fab fabrics, the notebook for Memphis and the chopsticks and last but NOT least one of her GORGEOUS Prints. I have admired her work for a long time now and feel very privileged to own one of her prints. Man I feel so very lucky and spoiled at the same time. Thanks sososososos much Betsy. We truly appreciate your kindness :)

So this weekend was nutso. I went shopping for new bras by myself and also got to go to Forever 21 and a few other shops in the Mall (we finally got one in our Mall and it is huge). It was so crazy. I guess I have not been getting out much because I basically had retail shock. It was all just tooooo much. Too many choices, too many things to need/want too many people and man our country is supposed to be in a financial crisis.
But I guess just like me there is stuff we all need from time to time. I currently am still trying to shape back up after Soren's birth so my wardrobe is pretty bleak. I keep trying to wear things that are just a bit too tight or that just don't fight my after baby bod. By doing this I am making myself feel worse about myself and I do not feel comfortable....but I don't want to shell out a bunch of dough for some new duds. So Target and Forever 21 came to mind. I don't know if you have ever shopped at Forever 21 but it is seriously exhausting and you really have to be committed and stay focused. There are all these teenagers and it's so big and there are soooooo many choices and soooooo many things to distract you. Plus...most of the racks of clothing are a mess and you always always have to dig for your size and they do that thing where they put waaaaay too many things on a rack so when you try to look for your size or just look at the garment another one falls off and lands on the floor. Totally exhausting. Then they only let you have 6 items at a time in the dressing room and I am an 'old school' shopper. I look thru the entire store, find what I like and try it one. Sometimes in multiply sizes....sooooo I have a lot of items and who wants to wait in the LONG line more than once? Well...after all my work I ended up with a purple pair of jeans and a red pair. I bought them a bit on the bigger side because I HATE...I mean strongly dislike...when jeans pinch at the waist. Then it was on to Macy's where I got the pleasure of going bra shopping. UGH. I tried on 24 bras and ended up buying two of the same ones. It was buy two get one free but they did not have a 3rd in my size so they gave me a huge discount on the two I purchased. Then Sunday came around and it was time to go to book club. It was super fun and I actually finished the book, Twilight. I am so in love with Edward :). So now I am on the 2nd book and was loaned the 3rd and 4th. I have a lot of reading to do. We also talked a lot about politics as we have been doing lately. I myself am terrified that if McCain wins we will be totally screwed due to his brilliant health plan. You see...we might not have much but we have amazing health coverage and give me a break...I really don't want to lose it. After book club a quick bite at home, pick up Memphis and head off to the auction/art show I participated in. Super fun and for a great cause. Then kids to bed and time to sew...phew I am exhausted just typing it. I know for some of you my weekend was a piece of cake but for me...not so much. Anywho I would like to raise a cheer to Meg...glass in hand ready to drink...for her continued political commentary over there at Pixiegenne. I agree with her 100%. I actually bought Jason an Obama t-shirt from Obey while I was out shopping this weekend. I want one. Anywho...that's it for this chickadee.
Don't forget PLUSH YOU is this Friday at Schmancy. I for one plan on plushing it up something fierce....must go sew...must read bedtime stories....xo
